The relocation of Viridis’ award-winning 100% bio-based renewable ethyl acetate plant is progressing quickly. Here are the latest updates from both Columbus, Nebraska and Peoria, Illinois.
If you have questions, please reach out to Steve Friedewald.
THIS is happening in Columbus
Disassembly is almost 50% complete. Major pieces of equipment have been carefully removed and are being prepped for shipment to Peoria. The project is on schedule and in-compliance with Viridis’ safety procedures.

THIS is happening in Peoria
Site preparation work is officially underway. The groundwork layout is complete, and work for the power and control center has begun. The support from the City of Peoria has been very valuable, and we’re grateful to be joining a community that embraces innovation and sustainability.

As a reminder, this move positions Viridis next to BioUrja Renewables’ high-purity ethanol plant, allowing us to produce 100% biobased ethyl acetate more efficiently and sustainably.
THIS is the foundation for what’s next. We’ll be back with more updates soon. In the meantime, please reach out to Steve Friedewald with any questions.
