The relocation of Viridis’ 100% bio-based ethyl acetate plant is moving forward steadily in Peoria, Illinois. Construction and site development continue to advance on schedule, supported by a strong focus on safety and operational excellence.

THIS is happening in Peoria
Several key milestones have been achieved:
📍 100,000 Safe Work Hours
The project has surpassed 100,000 hours without an injury – a result of a daily commitment by all Viridis employees to protect every stakeholder and to be the industry partner our customers expect.
📍 Customers On-Boarded
We are getting great support and commitment from many historic and new customers who are eagerly tracking our progress toward start-up.
📍 A Growing Team
Employee relocations are complete, and an impressive first group of operators is on-board as of September. More hiring, training and integration are underway to ensure alignment with Viridis’ standards of safety and efficiency.
The Peoria site is transforming daily, with construction and team development advancing in parallel.

We’ll share more updates in the months ahead as we move toward plant opening.
As a reminder, this move positions Viridis next to BioUrja Renewables’ high-purity ethanol plant, allowing us to produce 100% biobased ethyl acetate more efficiently and sustainably. Our facility is a 100MM-lb dedicated ethyl acetate plant – strategically closer to key customers and major transportation routes.
